Judy Jarvis and Beverly Gooch will create the next post card mailer and will request email addresses of classmates. DR Cromer will then create and email list for the class.
Website:
John Essley will be asked to watch for an increase in the number of hits on the site during a time period after the next mailer goes out.
Roundtable:
In 2010 we will have our 50th class reunion. Discussion of how to estimate the number of people who may come for the 50th... The committee is seeking suggestions for maximizing attendance at this milestone event.
The committee engaged in a general discussion of the date and place for the next reunion. Scheduling in June seemed to be preferred. Choosing a weekend and a site will be done later as options for both may change with circumstances before those arrangements must be made.
There was favorable consensus on the plans to have the Golf Tournament on Friday instead of Saturday and to have an all school breakfast on Saturday morning instead of meeting as junior high groups.
Next Meeting:
April 27, 2007 6:00 p.m.
Smokehouse Barbeque 1 ½ West 41st Street
Sand Springs, OK 74063 918-245-1772
The CHS 60 Reunion Planning Committee met April 17, 2006. We proposed several changes in the reunion weekend activities which we hope will make our 50th reunion even more enjoyable than previous ones.
Instead of meeting as separate junior high school groups for breakfast on Saturday morning we will meet as one group to facilitate visiting.
The golf tournament will be on Friday instead of Saturday to give the golfers a chance to attend the Saturday breakfast.
We have established an account for donations. Make checks payable to CHS 60 and mail them to:
CHS 60
P.O. Box 504510
Tulsa OK 74150
We ask for your donations to the class fund in the hope that we can make a significant gift to Central High School at the time of our 50th reunion. Please be generous.
The planning committee will meet next:
Monday evening, October 23, 2006, 6:00 p.m.
Smoke House Barbeque Restaurant (owned by classmate Jim Flemings)
114 Adams Road, Sand Springs, OK.
We welcome any member of the class of 1960 to join us as we make plans for this very special 50th reunion. We plan to meet every six months, and send you an update on the committee activities, until about a year before the 50th reunion when more frequent meetings will become necessary.

Carole Freemyer brought a guest, Lonna Barr.
Bob Walstad gave a treasurers report. We now have $3588.54 in a CD and $1484.98 in checking. We received a $50.00 donation. It was pointed out that we need to request more donations in the next newsletter.
John Essley reported that we need to add more information to the website to keep the interest of classmates visiting the site.
We talked about the date and location of the next reunion but decided it was too far out to really make any decisions at this time.
Judy Jarvis and Beverly Gooch will work up the next mailer(postcard) and we will have a meeting May 15th to prepare the mailing. The meeting will be held at the Smoke House BBQ at 6:00 p.m.
Discussion was held on having the golf tournament on Friday so that participants could attend the breakfast on Saturday morning. It was also discussed that we should have an "all schools breakfast" at the hotel where the reunion will be held.
The next regular meeting of the Reunion Committee will be held on October 23, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. at the Smoke House BBQ.
First Meeting of the 50th Reunion Committee
The first meeting of the 50th reunion committee was held on November 7, 2005 at the Smokehouse BBQ. It is never too early to start planning our next reunion. We had fourteen members and guests present at the meeting.
Topics that were discussed included the following:
- The committee will send out a newsletter in May 2006 with a postcard every six months in order to keep our address records up to date. If you have a change of address, please inform us by mail or email. Judy Jarvis and Beverly Gooch will prepare the postcard and newsletter. D. R. Cromer has the database for addresses. Our mailing address and email can be found on the website.
- We will keep the website updated as information is available.
- We discussed the feedback that we got from classmates as to possible improvements on the location for the 50th Reunion. It seems that most all of you liked the Post Oak Lodge but didn't particularly like the remote location. We are looking into having all events in one location next time. We also think that we might hold the Junior High breakfast in one location for all schools rather than having them at separate locations.
- It was brought up that the golf tournament might be held on Friday next time in order to free participates up for the Saturday morning breakfast. Most if not all of us, will be retired by then and those wanting to play golf could come in early.
- We also discussed holding the reunion later in the year. We had it in May this year do to scheduling, but we don't want to interfere with grandkids graduations, etc. Please give us feedback on all the above and the time of year you think would be best.
Our next meeting will be April 17th at 6:00 p.m.. Location will be at our classmate, Jim Flemings', Smokehouse BBQ in Sand Springs. All are welcome to attend these meetings.
